About the museum
The Egon Schiele Museum in Tulln sees itself as a centre of expertise on the life and work of the artist. It focuses on Schiele's living spaces in the town of his birth and its surroundings, on research into his biography and oeuvre and on changing presentations of original works. Visitors can gain insights into the research into Egon Schiele as part of a trail. The research trail shows different approaches to the artist, and Diethard and Elisabeth Leopold also allow visitors to take part in the creation of the world's largest Schiele collection.
Alongside Alessandra Comini, a path leads to Schiele's stations in life, which you can immerse yourself in directly. Finally, events are recounted by the people who accompanied Schiele. This is made possible by interviews that art historian Comini conducted with the artist's family in the 1960s. Every year, a special exhibition is organised on a different stage of Schiele's life. In 2024, the work of Schiele's artist friend Erwin Osen will once again take centre stage.
