Broken lives or: Egon and the broken chain

Another Schiele highlight can be discovered in the midst of the blossoming Schiele Garden: under the theme of ‘Life Breaks’, you will find information on the causes of Schiele's non-conformist life.

The expressionist work of the famous Tulln artist Egon Schiele is also taken up in the context of the Tulln Garden and translated into the language of garden art. Quotations from pictures such as a washing line, nude, mirror and sunflowers, which can be seen through windows or picture frames, create an intensive dialogue with Schiele's work.

A stone sculpture and a broken chain symbolise the dramatic upheavals of his childhood and youth in Tulln. The design of the garden gives an idea of the imagery of the time and creates the feeling of walking through a painting.

The garden was designed by the city of Tulln.
